Watchers

The very first journal entry, it´s not impossible it´s the very only one as well.

Now I´ve been in south-america for almost two months. Having everything I need in one single backpack.
It´s a very special feeling being so far away from everything I know and never be able to settle down for a while, even if I choose to stay at one place for almost a week. There is always something going on.
I´ve met people who are really inspiring as well as i´ve seen places i didn´t believed existed other than in travelling brochyres, books or even my own imagination.

What hits me the most, especially considering art, is how people here really seem to paint and draw from their hearts. They seem to paint for other people to see and enjoy, as well as a part of their own lifestyle.
The graffiti here is amazing, nothing i´ve ever seen (although, i only have sweden to compare this with. And sweden is´t famous for having such a big graffiti scene.)
It has all kinds of colors, is very well done, and seem to have a theme of happiness through out of all the paintings.
A wish for people not to only see the dull, grey walls of big buildings but rather to see colorful buildings. Houses that has their very own characeter. It´s like the joy of using colors at buildings is giving the walls and with them the streets, a whole. An overall feeling that the place has it´s very own essence. Like the city, or town, has a life of it´s very own. It´s not just grey buildings simply built by people for people.

While looking at some of these paintings on the walls, I can´t help to think of all the people out there who really enjoy what they do. And while they´re doing this, they are doing it for everyone else as well.

It´s beautiful.
